England’s campaign has not been smooth, with rain playing a part in a couple of games and the pitches being challenging, which has led to their batting unit not delivering to potential.

Who will be England’s top batter this T20 World Cup?

Moving on to the big question that is who amongst England openers will end up as their top batter, the bookmakers Parimatch and 22Bet have Jos Buttler as the favourite with Phil Salt slightly behind.

The England captain hasn’t had a great tournament by his standards but showed his class in the previous game as he smashed a 38-ball 83. Earlier, he had scored 42 off 28 in a group match against Australia. Buttler is one of the best in the business and has a stellar record against India, Australia and South Africa with 12 half centuries. Phil Salt has been pretty good at the top, giving England quick starts in the powerplay. He was magnificent against West Indies, blasting an unbeaten 87 off 47. Salt has amassed 635 runs in T20Is since 2023 at an average of 49 and strike rate of 169. Betting on Salt would give good returns with odds of 2.40 on 22Bet.
