Only the last few group matches of the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup are left. The Super 8 groups are taking shape now with only one possible place left for the teams to decide. Either Bangladesh or Netherlands will qualify while the rest of the teams are set. Pakistan and New Zealand are two of the big teams that have been knocked out of the tournament.
With the T20 World Cup entering its crucial phase, the fans will also be eager to place long term bets after looking at the conditions on offer. All the matches of the tournament will be played in the West Indies now from the Super 8 round. 22Bet is one of the best betting platforms when it comes to placing the long term bets and even for the World Cup, it is offering some of the best options.
Here we bring you the best long term bets to place on 22Bet during the T20 World Cup
1. Top Batsman Afghanistan
Rahmanullah Gurbaz – 1.3 odds
Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz is the highest run-getter of the tournament at the moment. He has scored 167 runs in three matches so far and is the safest option to be as the top Afghanistan batsman. Afghanistan still have at least four matches left in the World Cup and can easily end up beating his teammates in this race to become the top scorer for his side.
Ibrahim Zadran – 3.4 odds
Afghanistan’s other opener Ibrahim Zadran is also in good touch having scored 114 runs so far in three innings at an average of 38 and the strike rate of 121.27 with a fifty to his name. Zadran plays percentage cricket unlike Gurbaz who likes to go bonkers from the word go. With the pitches getting slower now, Zadran’s approach might just work and he can trump Gurbaz in this race to become top Afghanistan batsman.
2. Top Bowler South Africa
Tabraiz Shamsi – 11 odds
Tabraiz Shamsi has played only one game so far in this T20 World Cup and picked up four wickets. He featured for the first time in the tournament against Nepal and returned with figures of 4/19. South Africa will play two matches in Antigua and one in St Lucia in the Super 8 and the pitches are expected to be on the slower side. Shamsi will have at least three games and looks certain to pick more wickets in next 12 overs assuming he plays all matches in the next round to become the top bowler for his side.
Keshav Maharaj – 15 odds
South Africa surprisingly benched left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj for their last group stage matc. He has picked up five wickets in three matches so far and with three more matches at least to be played, he can also become the top bowler for South Africa. On slow pitches, Maharaj’s accurate bowling can turn things in favour of the Proteas.
3. Top bowler India
Jasprit Bumrah – 2.7 odds
India’s ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the third highest wicket-taker for India at the moment in the T20 World Cup. But given his exceptional skill of picking wickets, there is every chance of becoming the top wicket-taker for India. He has so far accounted for five wickets in three matches at an average of nine and an economy of 4.09. Bumrah’s ability to pick wickets at any juncture of the game makes him the top contender to become top bowler for India.
Hardik Pandya – 4.5 odds
Hardik Pandya continues to prove his mettle as an all-rounder playing for India. He has also delivered time and again in this mega event so far and is joint-highest wicket-taker with seven scalps to his name. Pandya has sent down 12 overs so far and has picked wickets at an average of 9.28 and an economy of 5.41. Pandya’s variations will also work on slow pitches in the Caribbean and he can be the top bowler for the men in blue.
4. Top batsman India
Rishabh Pant – 2.4 odds
Rishabh Pant’s comeback to international cricket has been superb so far as he is top run-scorer for India in the T20 World Cup 2024. The new role of batting at number three is working in his favour having scored 96 runs in three outings at an average of 48 and a strike rate of 124.67. With at least four more matches to go in the tournament, there is every chance of Pant making the most of comparatively better batting conditions in the West Indies.
Virat Kohli – 8.5 odds
This is the best chance to maximise out of Virat Kohli’s poor run in T20 World Cup so far. In the USA leg of the tournament, he has scored only five runs in three innings at a mediocre average of 1.66. But Kohli steps up in dire times for India and the pitches in the West Indies will suit his style of play where he can anchor the innings. Kohli loves to bat through the innings and he can come into his own in the rest of the tournament.
5. Top bowler Australia
Adam Zampa – 1.615 odds
Adam Zampa ruled the group stages against Oman, England and Namibia picking up a total of eight wickets against them. Australia are yet to play Scotland and three Super 8 matches and the surfaces will continue to help the spinners. Zampa has been economical so far conceding only 64 runs in 12 overs at an average of 8 and an economy of 5.33. He is a serious contender to become the top bowler of Australia.
Mitchell Starc – 9 odds
Mitchell Starc might have picked up only two wickets in two matches so far. But his left-arm pace bowling is perfect to pick wickets in crunch games just like he did for KKR in the Indian Premier League (IPL) last month. Starc is a clutch player and he can add a lot of wickets to his tally in the Super 8 round and possibly in the knockouts too if Australia qualify. Starc is a surprise option but worth risk taking as a top bowler of Australia.
