Matthew Hayden is all set to join the Pakistan team as a mentor for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The former Australian batsman played an important role in Pakistan’s 2021 T20 World Cup campaign as a batting consultant.
The 2009 T20 World champions have taken the world by storm since the last T20 World Cup edition. They beat India by 10 wickets in that tournament in Dubai and followed it up with another win against India in the Asia Cup super four match.
Since the last T20 World Cup, Pakistan have won 9 of the 11 T20 internationals they played.

Pakistan has all its bases covered, says Hayden
After his appointment as the mentor of Pakistan T20 World Cup side, Matthew Hayden said he was excited to be back in Pakistan colors.
The former left-handed opening batsman also pointed out that Pakistan has what it takes to excel in Australia and that the team has all its bases covered.
The new Pakistan mentor is of the opinion that the conditions in Australia will suit Pakistan from both bowling and batting perspective. Matthew Hayden is all set to join Pakistan on October 15 in Brisbane.
And on October 23, the world will be glued to their screens for the biggest blockbuster of the year, India vs Pakistan in Melbourne.
Can Hayden’s appointment make a big impact in Australia?
Australia will host the 2022 T20 World Cup and to have as mentor, a former Australian batting legend, has its own benefits.
The 50-year old mentor has experience and knowledge of the playing conditions at various venues in Australia. He will be a great resource for all the youngsters in the Pakistan setup.
Pakistan’s T20I record in Australia isn’t great. They have played 4 T20Is and lost 3 while 1 ended without a result.
However, that was the 2019 Pakistan team, and the current Pakistan team under Babar Azam’s leadership has shown great promise.
Can Pakistan repeat their last T20 World Cup performance against India?
The Babar Azam-led Pakistan team is in high spirits after beating India in a multi-nation tournament on two occasions. While India’s Virat Kohli is back in form with a record hundred in India’s last Asia Cup fixture, Pakistan bowlers will be seen as having an edge in the India-Pakistan contest.
As such, which team would be a good bet?
In India vs Pakistan matches, there is never a clear favorite. Both teams have world class players and a great enthusiasm to beat their arch rivals.
Many would argue that the Indian team did not show fierceness in their approach against Pakistan in the Asia Cup and the last edition of the World T20.
Nevertheless, that or India’s losses haven’t affected the view of betting sites as they continue to favor India over Pakistan.
Betting Tips for India vs Pakistan, T20 World Cup 2022
For the 23rd October India vs Pakistan fixture, Parimatch has priced India at 1.65 and Pakistan at 2.24 odds in the match winner market.
Pakistan aren’t underdogs here and will come in with a strong bowling attack, Hayden’s mentorship, and will be up against India, who are struggling to find their perfect playing XI.
As such, Pakistan sounds like a good bet. But Kohli’s return to form, Hardik and Pant’s record in Australia in contrast to Pakistan’s dependence on the top-order makes for a solid reason to back India.
Bet on India to win at 1.65 odds on October 23 against Pakistan.
