After 54 matches and 27 days, the biggest ever T20 World Cup has finally got its two finalists – India and South Africa. With 20 teams participating for the first time in nine editions, the T20 World Cup certainly lived up to its billing with associate teams creating upsets while Afghanistan topped the charts in this aspect making it to the semifinals.
As for the two finalists, both teams deserve to be at this stage having not lost a single match so far in the tournament. South Africa have won all their eight matches while India barring the washout against Canada in the group stage, have won all seven. For the first time in history of the T20 World Cup, an unbeaten team will lift the trophy on June 29.
The summit clash is set to happen at the Kensington Ova, Bridgetown in Barbados on June 29 and fans will be hoping for the rain to not play spoilsport.

South Africa was in one of the toughest groups for the World Cup with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, their nemesis Netherlands and Nepal. They started their tournament with a solid win over Sri Lanka but then crawled to victories against Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal. They won by just four runs against Bangladesh and one run against Nepal while they were 12/4 at one stage chasing 104 against the Dutch.
But the Proteas, led by Aiden Markram managed to top the group despite all the tough situations and cruised to the Super 8 round. USA challenged them in their opening encounter of this round but South Africa won easily by 18 runs but the real challenge was to beat England and the West Indies. They got the better of the defending champions by just six runs.
Despite the first two wins in Super 8, they needed to beat the Caribbean to stay alive and had almost choked in the low-scoring thriller. But even here, South Africa prevailed by just three wickets winning a rain-hit encounter. They faced a spirited Afghanistan then in the semis but for the first time, South Africa had a perfect day in the knockout game since 1992 and they literally thumped the opposition to enter the finals in style.

India’s journey to the final has been completely different compared to their opposition in the final. Rohit Sharma and his men have dominated the opponents on their way to the summit clash. They first thrashed Ireland by eight wickets and didn’t let arch-rivals Pakistan chase 120 in the next game. Hosts USA challenged them better though but India came up trumps even in that game to top the group. Their game against Canada in Florida got washed out due to incessant rains.
In the Super 8, India locked horns against Afghanistan first to beat them by 47 runs and then brushed aside Bangladesh to win by 50 runs. Their real challenge was to beat Australia in their final Super 8 encounter and India did it with aplomb winning comfortably by 24 runs.
They faced the defending champions England in the semi-final to whom they had lost by 10 wickets last time around. But this time around, India put their best foot forward to beat England by 68 runs defending 171 runs after losing the toss.
22Bet is one of the best betting websites to bet on and it offers exciting options for the cricket fans during the T20 World Cup. With the final set to be played between India and South Africa, the popular betting platform continues to offer some of the best player markets and odds and here we suggest you a few such markets to bet on in this game.
South Africa total runs in 1st six overs
The market South Africa total runs in the first over to be Over 46.5 or Under 46.5 and the odds 1.75 and 1.9 respectively. Given the way the Proteas start on slow pitches, it is very much possible that they might not go past the 45-run mark in the powerplay. Moreover, Reeza Hendricks’ form is not great and with India handing the ball to Axar Patel in the powerplay itself, it could be very tough for them to score runs upfront.
Accumulator Outcomes – India to win, Rohit Sharma total Over 0.5 6’s and Virat Kohli Total Runs over 24.5
Accumulator Outcomes is one of the interesting markets for the final as well, especially for the Indian fans. This particular market is very tempting to bet on as Kohli is yet to click and is due a decent knock while Rohit’s six-hitting ability is known to everyone. Moreover, as an Indian fan, one will always back his/her favourite team to win the final.
Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh to pick 1.5 Wickets each
Another accumulator outcome is Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh both picking more than 1.5 wickets each with odds of 3.8. This bet is also worth a risk as both the new ball bowlers of India can pick wickets upfront and at the death as well. Arshdeep can swing the new ball and pick early wickets while Bumrah has been close to unplayable in this tournament.
Virat Kohli Total 6’s Over 0.5 and Rohit Sharma Total 6’s Over 0.5
In the stats section of bets, this bet is available and the odds available for it is 2.4. It is worth taking a risk on this market as both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have taken the aggressive route opening the innings this time around. Even during their short stay in the middle, the duo can hit at least a six.
India Total Fours Over 12.5
Another market to consider in the Stats section could be India hitting a total of more than 12 fours during their innings. Kensington Oval in Barbados has long boundaries extending to around 75 metres as well which is huge. So it is very much possible that team India players will prefer hitting more fours to accumulate quick runs.
