Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in match number 19 of this 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai will be the venue for this game.
KKR have had a good start to this season. The two-time IPL champions have recorded a couple of comfortable wins against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) but lost a close encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Their bowling has been excellent so far in this tournament. Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee have led the charge in the pace department while the likes of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy have been very economical and hard to get away. Meanwhile, their batting has been a touch inconsistent but they haven’t chased big scores and that has helped them.
Meanwhile, DC have had contrasting games so far. They started with a fabulous win over five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI). They looked down and out at 72/5 while chasing 178 and they got there with 10 balls to spare. On the other hand, they seemed to be in control at 118/4 in 14 overs while chasing 172 against Gujarat Titans but they fell 10 runs short.

Umesh Yadav’s terrific powerplay record this season
Umesh Yadav was picked up at his base price by KKR in the IPL auction for the 2022 season. In fact, it was in the accelerated auction that he found a buyer. However, the Vidarbha fast bowler has had a magnificent start to this season. He has returned with eight scalps from three games so far. Five of those wickets have come in the powerplay and he has invariably given KKR fiery starts with the ball.

Match prediction
With the return of Warner and Nortje, DC will have a bolstered side but KKR will also have Cummins back which is strengthen their bowling attack. Thus, it could be almost neck and neck heading into the game.
Who will win the Man of the Match?
Umesh Yadav has been in fabulous bowling form and he will be one of the contenders to be the player of the match. Shreyas Iyer has the knack of producing those big scores and he could be the one to watch out for. Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw can blast away at the top of the order and he can really change the game in the powerplay. David Warner could also be in contention as he has been supremely consistent in the IPL since the start of 2014.
