The Premier League’s 2023-2024 season is about to come to a close, and what a season it has been! The year gone by was a crazy roller-coaster ride featuring plenty of ups and downs, with a three-way title race taking center stage for most of the season. As football fans shift their focus on to Euro 2024 with the end of the annual proceedings imminent, punters will be looking to make the best of their last accumulator bets of the season.
What Is an Accumulator Bet?
An accumulator bet, for newer bettors, is when you bet on multiple instances in a connected chain, meaning that all conditions have to come true for you to win your bet. This is highly popular because it’s a relatively low risk bet, but with potentially massive payoffs.
Without any further ado, here are our picks for Matchday 38 accumulator bets.
Tottenham Hotspur to Beat Sheffield United
Spurs to win against Sheffield United at odds of 1.35.
It’s no secret that the Blades have been shambolic this season — they lie dead last on the PL table with an absurd 16 points after trudging through what was the worst season for any team since Derby County in 2007/08. They also conceded the most goals by any club in the history of the Premier League, and have the joint-third-worst points tally at the time of writing. Should our prediction come true, that second fact will not change.
Meanwhile, the Spurs had an electric start to their own season, with many pinning them to finish in the top 4 and perhaps even challenge for the title. Things started slipping shortly before Christmas, and now they find themselves in a position where they need to salvage at least one point from this game to confirm a Europa League spot should Chelsea win against Bournemouth. With a flurry of recent losses, the North Londoners will likely bulldoze their demoralized opponents to finish their season on a high note.
Barring a miracle, Spurs should win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Liverpool to Beat Wolverhampton Wanderers
Liverpool to defeat Wolves at odds of 1.14.
If we had a dollar for each week Liverpool have been in a position to win the league in the last 5 years (barring the one they actually did), we would be able to afford season tickets at Anfield. Sadly for the Kop, the Reds have only managed to be disappointed. Once again, a season that could have resulted in a low-key quadruple for the Merseysiders (UEL instead of the UCL) fizzled out. This match doesn’t mean much to the team, but they will nevertheless want to thump their way to a win as a fitting farewell to legendary manager Jürgen Klopp.
It’s the second season in a row that Wolves are finding themselves in the bottom half of the table. While fans with a low bar will be glad they are continuing their top flight run, others will be ruing the changes that led them down from being top 4 contenders to a mediocre mid-table club. A run of one win out of their last 5 games does not inspire confidence, and it is highly likely that they will succumb to a strong Liverpool attack.
Liverpool will likely beat Wolves at Anfield.
Arsenal to Beat Everton
The Gunners should take out the Toffees with ease at odds of 1.15.
After watching Liverpool being foiled time and time again, Arsenal are no strangers to the fact that City are clinical when it comes to their final matchday with the title on the line. Nevertheless, given their own form they should make short work of the blue Merseyside team. The only real consolation for this team this year is that they did not bottle the season as badly as they did last time around, and while that’s a bitter pill to swallow, there will be a fair few people at the Emirates listening to the City game’s commentary.
It’s been a topsy-turvy season for the boys at Goodison Park, with a rather harsh FFP-induced point deduction pulling them down into the relegation zone before a slight reprieve and a string of victories brought them back up. They will still be celebrating the fact that it was their win against their Merseyside rivals that cost the latter the title race, but only the most optimistic Toffee would be hoping to salvage a point from an away day against what will be a rabid Arsenal side.
Arsenal will almost certainly demolish Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
Manchester City to Beat West Ham United
City should be able to win the title after crushing the Hammers at odds of 1.08.
Just about every bookmaker is sure that City will beat West Ham at the Etihad on Sunday, and they have strong precedents for such a firm stance. Just two years ago, City beat Aston Villa in the last game of the season after coming back from 2-0 down at 75 minutes to make it 2-3 within another 10. Pep Guardiola’s side has had a fantastic year, coming back from early setbacks to be in pole position when it matters. They should be able to wrap things up with a bow on top.
It’s been a mixed bag of a season for the Irons, who have had moments of brilliance counterbalanced by errors and sloppy play. A few years ago, this would have been a major letdown to the less celebrated Londoners, but compared to last year it’s a big step up. They will be happy to finish in the top half of the table, with their position bound to remain unchanged regardless of the result of this match.
City will almost definitely crush the Hammers at the Etihad.
Crystal Palace to Beat Aston Villa
The Eagles should edge out the Villans at odds of 1.86.
After a thoroughly subpar season, Crystal Palace is currently undergoing a brilliant run of form that has seen them climb up to 12th, during which they enjoyed a 4-0 bludgeoning of Manchester United. This burst of energy, combined with the fact that Aston Villa have nothing to gain or lose from their last match, should propel them into a victory against the UCL-bound side.
It’s been 42 years since Aston Villa won their first and only Champion’s League title, and this season will be remembered as the one that took them back to the hallowed competition for the first time since 1983. That being said, the Birmingham side may rest some key players in their last match of the season — especially since they wouldn’t want any injuries to rob them of important preseason matches or transfer value.
Palace will probably eke out a victory against Villa.
Altogether, these matchups combine for accumulator odds of 3.555 on 22bet. There are plenty of other markets available for accumulator bets, and we encourage you to check out all the options and put down whichever parlays you feel the strongest intuition about.
