Things aren’t good on Manchester United’s end who have only managed a single win in their last 6 games but remain the firm favorites to get the better of Watford FC, who were the first club to act this season by replacing Xisco Munoz with the slightly experienced Claudio Ranieri.
Going into this match, United will be desperate for a positive result ahead with meetings with Chelsea and Arsenal.
Watford FC Odds
Under Claudio Ranieri’s guidance, Watford haven’t been that impressive, losing three of their four games under the watch their Italian manager. Interestingly, though, there seems to have been signs of improvements in defense.
Two of their most recent defeats ended both in a 1-0 scoreline and the Hornets were hugely upset in the manner in which they lost to Arsenal having put the ball out of play so that an injured player could receive treatment. Coming into their next fixture with Manchester United, Ranieri’s men will heavily focus on keeping everything tight at the back.
Manchester United Odds
Manchester United have had 2 solid weeks to put their Manchester derby defeat behind and this time round, they must ensure that they go ahead and quickly arrest the slump that has seen them slip to 6th in the table and a further 9 points behind Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea FC.
Manchester United’s 2-0 home defeat to Guardiola’s Manchester City was even more humiliating than the final score suggested and surprisingly, the Red Devils resume under the guidance of Solksjaer who’s under a lot of pressure.
Ole Gunnar has several other issues to deal with, though. Besides Paul Pogba suspension, he also suffered a thigh injury he picked up while training with France. Edinson Cavani didn’t take part for the City match with a tendon problem that ruled him out of Uruguay’s World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Argentina.
Once again, Man United look to Ronaldo to lead in attack, and he looks an ideal wager at 9/5 to United’s first goalscorer.
How Watford Could Line Up
Watford are facing what appears to be a tough fixture at home to Manchester United and they could miss the services of their Turkish midfielder, Ozan Tufan. Tufan suffered a knee injury while out on international duty. Ken Sema may also fail to feature as he pulled out of the Sweden squad because of a ligament issue. Other players that may not feature include Kwadwo Baah, Peter Etebo, and Christian Kebesele.
Potential Man United Team to Face Watford
While a victory away at Vicarage Road is paramount for Manchester United, they’ll have to do that without a number of their star players. Paul Pogba remains unavailable as he still has a one game suspension. Raphael Varane is also out through a hamstring injury, and so is Luke Shaw who suffered a blow to the head in the Manchester derby.
Edinson Cavani and Scott McTominay are also potential doubts for the trip to Watford. Cavani suffers from a tendon problem while McTominay left Scotland’s squad due to illness. It’s not clear whether he will be feeling well in time to play against Watford. The following is potential Manchester United team to face Watford:
De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles, Van de Beek, Fred, Fernandes, Greenwood, Sancho, Ronaldo.
