The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 hosted in the United States of America and West Indies has been delivering gripping action day after day. The tournament which began on June 1st has already given plenty of unforgettable moments with the USA pulling off a huge upset against Pakistan, Netherlands giving South Africa a hard time and Afghanistan hammering New Zealand.
The unpredictability of the tournament can be highlighted by the fact that multiple top teams are in danger of getting knocked out in the group stage. One of those teams are the former champions Pakistan, who lost their first two games against the USA and India in Group A. They still have two games to mount a comeback but the runners-up of the 2022 T20 World Cup will have to rely on India and Ireland beating the USA.

Pakistan are known for their pace attack and it is no surprise three of them are on the above list. Shaheen Shah Afridi tops the list for the most wickets in T20 internationals since 2023, having claimed 34 wickets from 21 games at an economy of 8.2 while striking every 13.2 deliveries.
The enforcer of the bowling attack Haris Rauf has snared 27 wickets in this period at an economy of 9. The right arm fast bowler has struck at every 10.8 deliveries in this format since last year. Rauf has claimed two four-wicket hauls in this time. Abbas Afridi, who has been on the bench in the T20 World Cup, has played nine T20Is since 2023, has snared 16 wickets at an economy of 9.15.
The left-arm orthodox spinner Imad Wasim has been a key for them with the ball in the shorter format. He has taken 15 wickets in this period at an excellent economy of 6.11. Naseem Shah has picked 9 wickets in 10 games at 8.66 rpo.
